JAKARTA, KUPANG TIMES - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo leads the Commemoration Ceremony of the Seconds of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, in the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
At this year's ceremony, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowi, was accompanied by Mrs. State, Iriana wears Dolomani Traditional Clothing from Buton, Southeast Sulawesi Province.
Vice President, Ma'ruf Amin and Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin wearing traditional clothes from Banten province.
Before the ceremony begins, a Cultural Carnival is held, which is a procession, to carry a duplicate of the Heritage Flag, "the Saka Merah Putih and the Proclamation Text Manuscript," from the storage area in the Independence room, which is at Monas, to the Merdeka Palace.
The ceremony began with 17 cannon fire and was followed by the sound of sirens for 1 minute.
The Chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, La Nyalla Mahmud Mattalitti read the text of the Proclamation, which in 1945 was read by the First President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Sukarno.
Furthermore, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowi as the Ceremony Inspector led the participants of the ceremony to observe a moment of silence, the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas led the reading of prayers.
Then the ceremony continued with the hoisting of the flag of the Saka Merah Putih, which was carried out by the Tangguh Pancasila Team.
