JAKARTA, KUPANG TIMES - A viral post on social media uploaded by singer Raisa Andriana, when her car was refueling for oil (BBM) some time ago, was quoted from Instastory, Wednesday (06/07/22), it looks like her car is filling fuel at one of the one gas station.

Raisa can be seen documenting the total digital numbers on the fuel filling machine, and Raisa's car filling up with fuel, as much as 56.84 liters, IDR 21,870 thousand /liters, the total payment to be paid by Raisa, amounting to IDR 1,243,091 Million.

Based on the information obtained, the fuel used by Raisa's car is Shell's V-Power Diesel.

The upload was also seasoned with the words "Astaghfirullahhh :'))."

According to the analysis of the CNBC Indonesia research team, high world oil prices have put pressure on fuel prices worldwide, including in Indonesia.

The latest price, in July, at Shell gas stations also reached /liters IDR 21,870.

This figure is the highest in the history of fuel sales in Indonesia.

The price of /liters IDR 21,870 is sold by Shell for the Shell V-Power Diesel product, which is one of the top class products with a standard /liters of 5 Euros,

While Shell also sells Shell V-Power NITRO+ for /liters IDR 21,280, this BBM variant is also the highest variant, with RON 98, both of which are the latest Shell products.

Shell V-Power Diesel is on the market, in January 2022 while V-Power Nitro+ in April 2021.

With the high quality plus the soaring price of Indonesian crude oil (ICP), it is only natural that both of them are fuel products with the most expensive selling prices in Indonesia's history.

The price is also much higher than the selling price of fuel when Indonesia's crude oil prices peaked in 2012, 2008, and 2000, for the record, the ICP per June was USD 117.54 /barrel, the highest in the last 10 years.

In April 2012 when ICP reached USD 124.63 per barrel, the highest selling price was /barrel IDR 9,800.

Even when ICP reached USD 134.6 per barrel in 2008, which is the highest in history, fuel prices were in the range of /liters IDR 8,900.

When compared with Pertamina, the price of Shell RON 98 gasoline is still much higher.

Pertamina sells RON 98 or Pertamax Turbo for /liters IDR 14,500.

Another factor why fuel prices are now expensive is the high exchange rate of the rupiah compared to the United States (US) dollar.

In addition, it is also influenced by several factors such as MOPS (Mid Oil Plats Singapore) and the cost of other components such as margin and distribution.

Likewise, the price of fuel for other classes, both at RON 92 and 95 compared to other gas stations, Shell is more expensive.

Shell does sell fuel according to market prices, so with the condition of world crude oil prices soaring and spreading to Indonesian crude oil prices (ICP), it is only natural that the selling price of Shell fuel is the most expensive compared to other gas stations.

The current price of RON 92 from Pertamina or Pertamax is the highest in history, before reaching /liters IDR 12,500, the price of Pertamax once reached /liters IDR 11,900 in July 2014.

While RON 90 from Pertamina or Pertalite the highest price was in July 2015, at /liters IDR 8,400.

Pertalite fuel prices tend to fall from when they were first marketed.
